Peer Specialist (Boston & Cambridge/Somerville)
Is a member of the NSMHA Boston Emergency Services Team Urgent Care Center and Mobile Team. This position is designated for a person who is or has been a recipient of services for mental illness. Because of his/her life experience with mental illness and mental health services, the peer specialist provides expertise that professional training cannot replicate. Peer support specialists report to the Program Director or Assistant Program Director and are fully integrated team members who provide highly individualized services in the community and promote self-determination and decision-making. Peer Specialists also provide essential expertise and consultation to the entire team to promote a culture in which each person’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected and integrated into treatment, rehabilitation, and community self-help activities. The Peer specialist will also act as a general resources specialist, assisting with the day to day operation of patient evaluation, referral, and placement. The peer support specialist may have a bachelor's degree in a field other than behavioral sciences or have a high school degrees or GED, and has work experience with adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses or with individuals with similar human-services needs. This individual should be current or former recipient of mental health services who is in recovery. May have related training (e.g., certified occupational therapy assistant, home health care aide) or work experience (e.g., teaching) and life experience. Have completed an accredited Peer Facilitator training program or to be completed within 6 months of employment. Must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a serious and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences; work in market jobs; and have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous supports and services.

Behavior Monitor
The Behavior Management Monitor reports to the Director of Child & Family Services through the Director of Home-based Services. The Behavior Management Monitor implements behavior plans, monitors a youth’s behavior, reinforces implementation of the behavior plan by parents/guardians/caregivers and reports to the Behavior Management Therapist on implementation of the behavior plan and progress toward behavioral objectives or performance goals. A minimum of one year of direct ABA/Behavioral Therapy experience, under supervision of a BCBA, working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs. Access to consistently reliable transportation ability to work in community and home-based settings.

Behavior Therapist/Supervisor
The Behavior Management Therapist reports to the Director of Child & Family Services through the Director of Home-based Services. The Behavior Management Therapist completes behavioral assessments and behavior plans focused on addressing and reducing challenging behaviors that interfere with a youth’s successful functioning at home and in school. This position provides team leadership, clinical and administrative supervision of the Behavior Management Monitor (s). Credentialed as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certified in Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Access to consistently reliable transportation Ability to work in community and home-based settings. Master’s degree or above in related field

Overnight Clinician (BEST)
Reports to the Director of Emergency Services. This position provides direct emergency psychiatric clinical services, coordination and consultation to other care providers. It also provides prescreening evaluations for information and referral services, respite care and specializing and various administrative tasks. This position is part of an emergency services team providing continuity of care to all emergency clients, families and allied services. This is an on-call position, with the expectation of mobile response, Shifts covered includes evenings, overnights, and/or weekends. Master's Degree in a relevant human service clinical specialty that is Medicaid reimbursable.
Minimum one year in a psychiatric emergency service or similar setting required. Significant experience with child and family assessment is required.

Peer Specialist Deaf Team - CBFS

This position is designated for a person who is or has been a recipient of services for severe and persistent mental illness. Because of his/her life experience with mental illness and mental health services, the peer support specialist provides expertise that professional training cannot replicate. Peer support specialists report to the Recovery Team Leader and are fully integrated team members who provide highly individualized services in the community and promote self-determination and decision-making. Peer Support Specialists also provide essential expertise and consultation to the entire team to promote a culture in which each person’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected and integrated into treatment, rehabilitation, and community self-help activities. The peer support specialist may have a bachelor's degree in a field other than behavioral sciences or have a high school degree or GED, and has work experience with deaf adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses or with individuals with similar human-services needs. This individual should be current or former recipient of mental health services who is in recovery. May have related training (e.g., certified occupational therapy assistant, home health care aide) or work experience (e.g., teaching) and life experience. Completion of accredited Peer Facilitator training program preferred. Must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a serious and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences; work in market jobs; and have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous supports and services. Within six months of hire date, must enroll in an accredited Certified Peer Recovery Specialist training program. This program must then be completed within 12 months of inception. Must have MAP Certification through DPH, CPR/1st Aid within three months of hire

Employment Support Specialist-CBFS
Is a member of the Recovery Support Team and reports to the Recovery Team Leader and is a fully integrated team member who provides highly individualized services in the community and promotes self determination and decision making. The Employment Support Specialist will work with persons interested in employment and takes on the role of navigator to assist each person in developing a mutual understanding and shared vision about the desired job and the route needed to achieve it. Provides leadership to the team in the application and deployment of the IPS model.. High School Diploma/GED equivalent required. Bachelors Degree highly preferred. At least two years experience with population who has severe and persistent mental illness in lieu of degree required. Must have vocational knowledge and be able to teach others. Must have Driver’s license. Must be MAP certified, CPR/1st aide within three months of hire.

FST Outreach Worker
Provide outreach to children, youth, and adults who may benefit from counseling services; by way of traveling throughout the community. High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred. Training and experience working with young children, adolescents, and families. Previous experience with crisis intervention, family preservation, and mediation. Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and access to a dependable vehicle. Bilingual (Spanish) ability highly preferred. Work is primarily mobile; traveling throughout the community.
Outreach Worker – CSP Program
Provides a range of mobile, care coordination services to assist adults and their families to locate resources needed to live successfully in the community. Services may include advocacy, coordination of treatment, outreach, assistance with basic needs, skill building and facilitating linkages with other community based and natural support systems. A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field is preferred. A valid driver’s license and functional vehicle required. Previous experience with population who has severe and persistent mental illness highly preferred. Must be capable of intervening during crisis situation. Good oral and written skills required.
Residential Counselor – Bayhouse
Reports to the Program Coordinator and/or Assistant Director of Deaf Supported Housing. Responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of individuals in a residential setting through advocacy, teaching, and service planning. High school degree or GED required; Bachelor’s in related field preferred. One (1) to Two (2) years human services experience with similar population preferred. Must be fluent in American Sign Language.
Emergency Services Clinician – BEST Team
This position provides direct emergency psychiatric clinical services, coordination and consultation to other care providers. Knowledge of emergency services procedures required. Must be computer literate. Bilingual (Spanish) ability highly preferred. Must have access to a car and posses a valid driver’s license.
Assistant Program Coordinator (Charlestown)
This position is responsible for assisting the programmatic and administrative aspects of a respite program under the supervision of the Program Coordinator and/or Director of Residential. High School Degree or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. Medication, CPR/First-Aid certification or ability to receive certifications required within three months of employment. One year experience in the Human Services field required. Supervisory experience preferred. Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License required.

Bilingual (Spanish) Clinician
Provide a broad range of clinical services for clients and social work leadership for the Substance Abuse Services Program. Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology, or related field and LICSW, LMHC, or LCSW preferred. Minimum of two (2) years experience. Family and/or adolescent work experience preferred. Fluency in Spanish required

Relief Staff
We have part time (per diem) shifts available in our MH residential programs. Flexible hours – day, evening, and overnight hours. High School Diploma/GED required. Valid drivers license highly preferred. No experience required.

Awake Overnight Counselor
Opportunity to be responsible for the safety and well being of consumers in a residential setting during overnight shifts. Responsibilities include providing assistance to consumers based on need level of consumers, being awake and available to consumers until they have left the program or until morning staff arrives, security checks, log notes, and any duties based on consumer need or schedule. Requirements include HS Diploma/GED, 1 year experience in Human Services, and certification (Medication, First Aid, and CPR) or the ability to achieve within three months of employment.

Residential Counselor
Opportunity to supervise and participate with individuals in activities of daily living, socialization, leisure time, and community integration. Additional responsibilities include medication administration, daily logs, attending appointments with individuals, money management, and additional responsibilities. Requirements include HS Diploma/GED, BA/BS preferred, 1year Human Services Experience, effective communication skills, certification (Medication, First Aid, CPR) or the ability to achieve within three months of employment. Driver’s License necessary.
